the lyrics
“It’s not about politics. It’s about me. And… you?”
Before you read
Webster’s gives ten definitions of politics. The first is “the art, or science, of government.” It isn’t until the eighth that we find how most of us think of it: the political opinions of a person — especially when tangled up with the competition for power.
This record consists of observations and musings about humanity and the human nature we all share, both the good and the bad. If its lyrics are interpreted as political, it’s because governments are run by people — and it’s always easier to see the faults in the opposing view than any commonality that is shared.
At the end of the day we are all human. All capable of its greatest triumphs and its darkest failures.
